St. Ann's Community Wireless Internet Use Policy and Procedures

St. Ann's Community offers residents, patients, and their visitors wireless Internet access as way for keeping in touch with work, family, friends, and current events

What is the fee?

This is a free service to residents, patients, and their guests. You must provide your own wireless device and connectivity.

What do I have to do to connect?

Simply bring your laptop, PDA, or other wireless-enabled device with you to St. Ann's and connect using your wireless network card. Your card must support either 802.11b or 802.11g frequencies.

When you first connect, you will notice “St. Ann’s Guest Wireless Internet Access - Terms and Conditions of Use”. When you click “Accept”, you will be automatically granted access.

Where and when can I connect?

The wireless network is available throughout the St. Ann's building. Wireless is not available in the Heritage or anywhere else on campus or at Cherry Ridge in Webster. However, computers with internet access are available to patients in the Resident Resource center at St. Ann's Home, the Library at Chapel Oaks and the  two Libraries at Cherry Ridge. The wireless network is available 24-hrs day/7 days a week.

Can I use a St. Ann’s computer to access the Internet?

St. Ann’s is currently unable to offer any computers to visitors. There are computers available in the following locations for patient and resident use only: lobby on TCU, Resident Resource Center off the main Lobby, the Library at Chapel Oaks and the two Libraries at Cherry Ridge.

What can I do if I can’t get connected to the network?

Verify that your device has wireless capabilities and that it is enabled, and try following the "Getting Started" instructions again (below). If the wireless networking device does not automatically detect the available wireless networks, manually type "Guest" into the appropriate field and try connecting to it this way.

Since this is a free service, St. Ann's does not provide technical support for your device or connectivity. If you have problems accessing the Internet over St. Ann's wireless connection, staff cannot assist in making changes to your hardware or perform any troubleshooting on your device.

Can I print?

Printing is not supported from your laptop to a St. Ann's printer. You should mail the website's URL address to yourself and print it when you return home.
