Have you ever doubted the kindness in people’s hearts?
Not me! If there’s one thing I know, it’s that people care about St. Ann’s Community.
When I was asked to chair the Campaign for the Most Important People on Earth, I already had a long relationship with St. Ann’s. Many years ago, when Kathleen began volunteering here at St. Ann’s, she would come home and tell me stories about the people she met and the lives they had led. Her love of this place and the people who live here made me want to spend time here as well. Together, we have come to understand the importance of bringing purpose and joy to the lives of our seniors.
We took on a big goal: $8 million. With the help of a talented Campaign Cabinet we set about to raise four–times more money than St. Ann’s had ever raised. We felt challenged, but the need was clear and compelling. It was essential that St. Ann’s continuously update building to the buildings, this is the changing care our seniors needed. I knew it wouldn’t be easy, but I believed that people would open their hearts to us, because so many have been served so well by St. Ann’s.
I never imagined we would see such generosity. With nearly 3,500 donors contributing we raised over $9.2 million! Our board members and employees were joined by a long list of corporations, foundations, and generous individuals who care about St. Ann’s future.
